When you work with us, you work with us
We all know the traditional consulting companies. First, you meet the partner. Skilled, experienced and inspiring. Then you sign the deal and that's the last thing you see of him/her! Suddenly you're surrounded by young, inexperienced and certainly not very inspiring juniors. They run around producing Excel documents and PowerPoint at high speed. The only thing that runs even faster is the tachometer!
This is not the case with Symbio! You get to meet our partners, but that's because they are hands-on, and deliver your project. Of course there will be others who help, but our partners are always the lead. And as we move forward, you'll probably see an Excel sheet and some PowerPoints from time to time, but our focus is always on solving the “problem.”
Jon Rune Nygård founded Symbio AS in 2000, and since then he has dedicated his life to developing people and organizations. This is his community mission.
His philosophy is simple: True development occurs through cooperation, mutual respect and professional knowledge. He is above average fond of people — and it is noticeable. Solid knowledge is one of the pillars of his work, and you will find him periodically either on the school bench to immerse himself in management and organizational psychology, or as a lecturer for master's students at NTNU.
With a broad background in business and academia, combined with experience as a general manager and board member, Jon Rune has a deep insight into his profession. Those he works with describe him as a strategic thinker with strong execution ability. He looks behind the analyses, inserts himself into the situation of others and builds trust as an empathetic sparring partner.

Edith Rian is an immigrant from Germany based in Bonn, Germany. She has established and runs Rösslyng GmbH, and has cooperated with Symbio AS since 2019.
Edith helps leaders succeed — not by giving easy answers, but by asking the right questions. With a solid academic background, international leadership experience, and many years as a certified coach and leadership developer, she provides leaders with the tools they need to lead with clarity, confidence and commitment.
